Bway Cast Changes

Broadway Production of ALW's The Phantom of the Opera Announces Cast Changes

Rachel Zatcoff, an opera and musical theater performer who has sung all over the world, will make her Broadway debut as the Christine alternate in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera on September 2nd. She will ordinarily perform on Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Kayley Ann Voorhees, the previous alternate, has left the show to perform in Japan.

Craig Bennett will take over as Monsieur Firmin on August 31st, replacing Tim Jerome. Mr. Bennett is no stranger to the role, having performed it previously on the North American tour. He will join two other tour veterans in the Broadway cast, Julia Udine (Christine) and Linda Balgord (Madame Giry).

The other principals of the New York production are James Barbour (the Phantom), Jeremy Hays (Raoul), Laird Mackintosh (Monsieur André, who is the business partner of Craig Bennett's character), Michele McConnell (Carlotta), Christian Šebek (Piangi), and Kara Klein (Meg Giry).
